Interesting news: Meat Vs Transport on carbon foot print

Today, BBC has given an interesting news on contribution of Meat Vs Transport on global warming..

It says meat (18%) contributes more than Transport (13%)

Indian Nobel Laureate, Dr. Rajendra Pachauri leads the talk..

Also, to be noted:

"Surveys show people are anxious about their personal carbon footprints and cutting back on car journeys and so on; but they may not realise that changing what's on their plate could have an even bigger effect."

It seems more than CO2,it is methane which is 23 times as strong as Co2 found in the meat which contributes to Global warming.

Thanks Gee.. though 18% corresponds to Total GHG.. U r right.. "Since methane is more potent GHG than CO2.. it should be considered first"
